Educational and Fun

Chicken hatching can be incorporated into numerous themes and topics for all ages. Easter and Spring are the obvious two, but there are many others.

Students have used our displays as a learning aid in art classes, for science projects, maths, reading and writing and many others. Some teachers even book the display as an end of year reward for well-behaved classes.

Over the years we have received a vast array of pictures, letters and projects that students of all ages have undertaken. Feedback from teaching staff reveals that the enthusiasm the students harbour towards the chickens, is transferred to their willingness to learn.

Having the chickens in the classroom or child care centre creates an endless source of learning. We now have a blog page and encourage teachers and students to converse with each other there as an additional learning tool.

Rod is currently training to be a teacher and would be more than happy to discuss your ideas and offer advice.
